HEAD INSTRUCTOR

 Master Chauw Proom Wichit

Master Chauw is a professional Taekwondo Master with over 30 years' experience. He started Taekwonmas Academy in 2014, after teaching Taekwondo at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) for 17 years. He has served Malaysia as National team member in Gyorugi (Sparring) between 2001 - 2003, and National Poomsae Team member since 2013 until today.  Master Chauw is a recognized International Poomsae Referee by World Taekwondo (WT) and a certified Taekwondo Master by KUKKIWON (The World Taekwondo Head Quarter). He is also a registered Taekwondo Master with World Taekwondo Changmookwan and Korea Martial Arts Society. Master Chauw was graduated from National University of Malaysia (UKM) with Bachelor Degree in Technology and Information Science (Hons) in year 2000.

 

 

MASTER INSTRUCTORS

Master Ester Salimun (Phd)

Master Ester Salimun is a 5th Degree Master Black Belt holder (Chang Moo Kwan, Taekwondo Malaysia & Kukkiwon) and also graduated as a Doctor of Philosophy in Marine Science (Oceanography) from National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 2015. She has over 25 years experience in Taekwondo and she is also the only female Taekwondo athelete in Malaysia that been holding a National Champion titles in 3 disciplines which are Gyorugi, Poomsae and Female Hoshinsul (Self-Defence). Having been a member of National Poomsae team members since 2013, Master Ester have been pairing with Master Chauw competing in international poomsae competitions in mixed pair (over 30) categories until today. In 2016, Master Ester and Master Chauw have won bronze medal (3rd place) in Asia Taekwondo Championship Manila, philipines and the World's 8th ranking in World Taekwondo Poomsae Championship in Lima, Peru. Master Ester is also the Bronze Medalist in the 2018 Asia Taekwondo Championship (Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam).

 

Master Muhammad Izzat Ilmin

Master Izzat is a 5th Degree Master Black Belt holder (Chang Moo Kwan, Taekwondo Malaysia, & Kukkiwon) with 20 years experience in Taekwondo. As the former President of Taekwondo Club in National University of Malaysia (UKM) and a former Taekwondo fighter, he has vast experience in Taekwondo event management, championship management, membership management and refereeing. Master Izzat has been working closely with Master Chauw Proom Wichit and Master Ester Salimun in coaching Taekwondo teams at National University of Malaysia since 2009. Master Izzat is currently assisting Kelantan State Taekwondo Association (PTNK) in Taekwondo coaching and refereeing. Master Izzat graduated from National University of Malaysia (UKM) with Bachelor of Science (Hons) Genetic in 2007.

  

Coach Azrin Ahmad

Coach Azrin Ahmad is holding 4th Degree Black Belt from the World Taekwondo Chang Moo Kwan and 3rd Degree Black Belt from Taekwondo Malaysia (TM) & Kukkiwon. She has over 18 years experience in Taekwondo with vast experience as full contact Taekwondo athlete (Gyorugi). Her highest achievement as Gyorugi athlete was silver medalist in National Championship and Inter Varsity Games in 2011. In 2012, she was selected to represent Malaysia in the 16th ASEAN University Games Vientiane Laos. Coach Azrin is currently coaching Taekwondo team at HUKM, CITRA Program for National University of Malaysia and UKM's Children Taekwondo Club. She is also actively serving Taekwondo Malaysia (TM) as state referee. In 2017, Coach Azrin was a volunteer for Taekwondo event during Sea Games Kuala Lumpur. Coach Azrin was graduated from National University of Malaysia (UKM) with Master Degree in Molecular Biology in 2016. 

 

TEAM MANAGER

Master Steven Oh

Master Steven Oh is a 4th Degree Black Belt holder (Taekwondo Malaysia) and a parent to 3 strong Taekwondo athletes at Taekwonmas Academy. Prior joining Taekwonmas team, Master Steven started ITF Taekwondo 25 years ago and was last only for few year before he decided to take a long break from Taekwondo to focus on his career and family. Decided to take the first step to restarted all over again after over 20 years at the age of 40 and never looked back since then. Master Steven officially joined Taekwonmas team in 2015 and has participated in the National Championship in the following year (2016) and became National Champion when he won Gold Medal in Poomsae for over 40 year old category.  He always believe "Better late than Never".  

 

 

COACHES

Coach Faiz Roslan

Coach Faiz is a 4th Degree Black Belt holder (Taekwondo Malaysia & Kukkiwon) and has been practicing Taekwondo since age 7. He has over 16 years of experience in Taekwondo Gyorugi competitions (full contact sparring) as a fighter. Coach Faiz started to participate in Gyorugi event since he was 9 years old and still actively participating in National and International competitions today . He met Master Chauw at UKM in 2009 and since then, he has been following Master Chauw's training. Now, he's coaching and leading his own University‘s Taekwondo Club which is UniKL (MIAT) to various Inter Universities competitions and assisting/coaching classes at Taekwonmas. Coach Faiz is currently completing his Bachelor Degree in Aviation Management with Malaysia Institute of Aviation Technology, Kuala Lumpur University.

 

Coach Azrin Ahmad

Coach Flora Rasyidah

Coach Flora is a 3rd Degree Black Belt holder (Taekwondo Malaysia & Kukkiwon) with 17 years experience in Taekwondo. She was a Sarawak State's Taekwondo Athlete between 2003 - 2004 to compete in National Games and National Level Championship. During her university life between 2008 - 2012, she has won many championships at locally and international which she was selected to be part of National Taekwondo Squad in 2012. She has represented Malaysia team to compete in the 16th ASEAN University Games Vientiane Laos 2012 and the 3rd Asian Taekwondo Championship 2012. Her highest achievement as Kyorugi Athlete was Bronze medalist in the 3rd Asian Taekwondo Championship in 2012. Currently, Coach Flora is coaching Taekwondo Team at  National University of Malaysia (KL Campus) and actively serving Taekwondo Malaysia (TM) as state referee.  She was graduated from National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 2013 with  Master Degree in Environmental Science.
